Scoil Mhuire Oigh, a new National Primary School for girls, was opened by the Very Rev. Canon Deasy, P.P., Dolphin’s Barn, at Crumlin Rd., Dublin, yesterday. Built to accommodate 550 •children, the school presently houses over four hundred. There is a fully-equipped department allotted to the study of domestic economy. The Loreto Nuns, from the Mother House of the Order at Rathfarnham, assisted by a number of lay teachers, are in charge of the school. The building was designed by Mr. T. J. Cullen, architect, 25 Suffolk St., Dublin, and executed by Mr. J. Cleary, contractor, Grantham St. The structure, almost completely built of Irish material, is intended to replace the old schools at Dolphin’s Barn, which, owing to increasing numbers Of pupils, had become congested.
