Turnpike Gate

The turnpike gate was in connection with the toll roads built after 1814, probably the straight stretch of Crumlin Road bypassing the present Old County Road and Rafter’s Lane, though it could also have been Long Mile Road from the Halfway House to Fox and Geese.
