Richie Egan

Richie Egan is a songwriter, musician, producer and composer from Crumlin working between Malmo, Sweden and Dublin. Egan started out in the music world in the punk and hardcore underground scene, progressing to playing bass in The Redneck Manifesto, and then becoming the main songwriter in Jape culminating in him becoming the only ever two-time winner of the Choice Music Prize for his albums Ritual in 2008 and Ocean of Frequency in 2011. His musical style can be described as electronic experimental rock.
Notable singles from Jape include ‘Floating’, ‘I am the Man’ and the hugely popular with fans ‘Phil Lynnott’ which includes the lyrics” One day I will be a dead man who plays the bass from Crumlin/Like Phil Lynott”
He currently specialises in composing songs and music for TV shows, advertisements and documentaries; he has written all the songs for the Nickelodeon show, ‘Becca’s Bunch’, and the Amazon Prime show, ‘Jessy and Nessy’.
