The house on Sundrive Road were re-numbered and Arva became 8 Sundrive Road. in 1937. Originally the houses on Sundrive were numbered sequentially and the current number 20 was number 1, current number 22 was number 2 and so on.

In July 1948, building is up for sale and referred to as  “Beacb Grove” or “Beech Grove”, 8 Sundrive Road, Kimmage, adjoining main Lower Kimmage Road. Full particulars from Cully and Sons Auctioneers, Arva, Co. Cavan. The auctioneer location would just a Cavan connection to the building owner.

In 1944 there is a news ad: CAHILL—The family and relatives of the ate Mrs. Anne Cahill, “Arva,” 8 Sundrive Road. Kimmage, wish’ to return thanks, to all .those who ‘sympathised with them in their recent sad^: loss; to those who sent Mass cards.

Woods

• George William  Woods (Father of below) Pensioner married to Charlotte Stone.
  George Henry Woods(b 1879, Commercial Traveller) married to Annie Gray on 23 August 1905
• George Sr was from Cavan. Perhaps this is where Arva came from as it is a place in Cavan.

MacGraths
Between 1933 – 1937 the MacGrath’s lived in Arva,  The parents Lorcan Anthony Ignaious MacGrath(1901-1970) and Bridget Agnes Huaghey (1895-1988), An advert in 1933 announces the birth of their son Lorcan MacGrath(1931-2001). Lorcan Sr. received a Military Service Pension and actively participated in the Irish Volunteers and the Irish Republican Army. He was the brother of Patrick MacGrath, a key member of the Irish Republican Army, executed in Mountjoy in 1940 and his other three brothers were also active.

Arva is listed in Thom’s Directory under Kimmage-road until 1933. From 1934 it is listed under Sundrive-road. It is not listed by the name Arva after 1937.
