Sinéad Crowley

Sinéad Crowley, born in Hardebeck Avenue, Walkinstown, is an Irish journalist and novelist who worked for RTÉ, Ireland’s national radio and television station, from 1997 to 2023, serving as the Arts and Media Correspondent from 2006 to 2023.
A fluent Irish speaker, Crowley began work as a reporter and film reviewer with the Northside People and later worked on the radio stations Raidió na Life, Clare FM and Radio Kerry.
She joined RTÉ in 1997 as a reporter in Irish-language programmes, moving to the station’s newsroom two years later. She was appointed Arts and Media Correspondent in 2006.
She has also been a lecturer in journalism at Dublin City University since 2019. Crowley covered COVID-19 news extensively during the pandemic. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies and a master’s in women’s studies from Dublin City University and University College Dublin.
Crowley has published four novels, three of which—”Can Anybody Help Me?” (2014), “Are You Watching Me?” (2015), and “One Bad Turn” (2017)—were shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards. Her fourth novel, “The Belladonna Maze,” was published in 2022.
