Commemorative Cross

Celtic cross sculpted by Benedict Byrne, commemorative of the original village cross which stood near here, erected 2002 on the initiative of the Crumlin Historical & Preservation Society. It depicts St Patrick casting the idol Crom into the lake (Crom Linn, the lake of Crom). Other images show the lives of the people of Crumlin today. The original cross was probably hidden in Cromwell’s time.
